The Christmas Giraffe

I think it is safe to post this here as I'm sure my sister doesnt look on this blog (not sure anyone does LOL) anyway, Im workin now on some Christmas gifts, it is handy being an artist in a bad economy, at least you can always make a gift :) . This is a gift for my sister, she collects giraffes and I know she is expecting a painting of one for Christmas.

New Wildflower painting and yesterdays update

Today I tweaked yesterdays painting and bit, adding more shadows and clouds in the sky, so here is an updated photo, taken in daylight so better color as well!

Then I decided to do a fun fluffy piece, loosely painted wildflowers from a photo I took while vacationing in cape cod this past september.

What I have been up to lately!

I have again neglected my blog, shame on me! I do have some news though, sold a few paintings, and one to the TV show "The Beast" staring Patrick Swazyee that will air on A&E channel in January. It will be in episode 6. One of the set designers saw the small one I did on ebay and ordered the same but larger, 18"x24" and much tighter. Pretty neat eh?

Here are a few that i have recently sold on ebay:

I have also started doing Pet Portraits

I have a few other new paintings but i will leave them for another day. November wass a pretty dry month for me, i am hoping it will be a more productive December! Feel free to leave comments, i absolute value everyones opinions and critiques :)

I have allowed life, work and a tropical storm to get in the way of doing my daily paintings but I am back at it. This is actually one I started on Saturday and finished this morning. It is of my birthday flowers that my friend Tassia gave me. :)

Wow been ages again since i posted here. Now that the summer crazy schedule is over and I have a bit more time i am planning (once again) to start daily painting. I began tuesday September 2nd.

I really need to work harder at my art AND at marketing my art. I am planning on doing some plein air painting, in fact i am going to cape cod for a few days sept 22-24 to do just that. Im very excited to take my first painting trip :)

Anyway, here are my first 2 daily paintings.
